JoJo Maman Bebe encourages parents to choose a gender neutral baby name

JoJo Maman Bebe has encouraged parents to opt for a unisex name.

The Newport-based baby clothing firm has said it  could be because new parents are looking to break down gender boundaries or that they're more likely to be set on a name before finding out whether they’re having a boy or a girl.

Among the 18 names that made the list from Jojo Maman Bebe include River, which it says is a great name to choose for an easy-going baby who is destined to go with the flow.

It suggests Rowan - which it says means ‘little redhead’ - would be "a brilliant choice for babies with flame-coloured hair", while Bailey, it says, is jaunty and friendly and ideal for boys and girls.

The post on its website says : "Unisex names are more popular than ever – which could be because we’re breaking down gender boundaries or we’re just more likely to be set on a name before we find out whether we’re having a boy or a girl!

"This naming trend looks like it’s here to stay, and if you need a little inspiration for your next baby, look no further."

The 18 names suggested are: River, Gray, Quinn, Wren, Rowan, Avery, Remi, Everlyn, Max, Indigo, Albie, Bailey, Blair, Jude, Teddy, and Everly.
