'Join your boyhood club' - Arsenal fans urge David Alaba to make transfer decision

Arsenal fans are on full alert after David Alaba confirmed he will leave Bayern Munich this summer, as they remember comments he previously made.

The Austria international will depart the Allianz Arena when his contract expires at the end of the season, sparking attention from across Europe.

Real Madrid have long been touted as the favourites to sign the 28-year-old, while Chelsea's interest has increased following the arrival of Thomas Tuchel.

However, the versatile player has previously admitted that he supported Arsenal as a child - and the supporters haven't forgotten.

"I know the Premier League very well because I followed it a lot when I was younger. I supported Arsenal. Patrick Vieira was one of my favourite players," he said earlier this year.

While it seems extremely unlikely that Arsenal would win the race for the player, fans are urging Alaba to seal a move to north London.

If Arsenal were to enter the running, they'd face a significant battle to land his services as Manchester City and Liverpool have also been attributed with interest.

Alaba has a plethora of success in his career, boasting a tally of nine Bundesliga titles and two Champions League triumphs.

With Bayern leading the way with a five-point lead in the Bundesliga, it seems likely that he will enjoy further success before he departs the club.
