From Euro 2020 to the Olympic Games, it is a summer where race has taken centre stage be it through footballers taking the knee in protest, issues of race around who gets to compete in Tokyo or the abuse of fans and players due to the colour of their skin.

The conversation will no doubt encompass the reaction to England's penalty shootout defeat in the European Championship final, where Manchester United's Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, as well as Arsenal's Bukayo Saka, all missed spot kicks as Italy claimed the trophy.

All three players were subjected to a horrific barrage of racial abuse in the aftermath of the result, once again throwing light on the issue of race in football and the severe conditions under which players are expected to perform in the modern game.

This came off the back of the England players being booed throughout the tournament for taking the knee prior to kick-off of every match. This is a topic that won't go away anytime soon, with high profile figures at United and Man City sure to be at the centre of it.

Expect a lively and honest discussion with Anyika and Gurmej about their achievements in sport, the barriers that must be overcome for ethnic minorities specifically and the greater role we in the media can play through our coverage.
