Everybody knows that Friday is a good day.
This Friday is an especially good day – because you have now raised £91,333 for the nine inspiring mental health charities in our appeal. That’s still more than double the amount donated by this time in last year’s appeal.
We’re pretty happy about that. So is this guy.
We’re so close to six figures now and something tells me that tomorrow we might just make it.....
Why?
Tomorrow is the annual Guardian Christmas appeal telethon
That’s when some of our best known journalists come into Guardian HQ not to find stories but to answer calls from our readers and raise money for our appeal.
That means you have the chance to crack a joke with Stuart Heritage, get fashion advice from Jess Cartner-Morley or ask Ewan MacAskill what Edward Snowden is really like. And this year, Shami Chakrabarti will be joining in with the fun too!
We’re already looking forward to it...
Incidentally, if you want to hear more about @Starwards, call the #GuardianChristmas telethon in a couple of weeks and I'll gab your ear off

We’re raising the stakes with a Christmas competition
Everyone who calls into the telethon on Saturday will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win one of ten pairs of tickets to a Guardian Live event. If you don’t know about Guardian Live, it’s where we bring our journalism to life by bringing you closer to some of the people and ideas behind and within it – whether that’s through a film club with Richard Ayoade or a debate with Polly Toynbee on whether Cameron is more of a radical than Thatcher. So far this year more than 12,000 people have joined Guardian journalists for conversations with Edward Snowden, Russell Brand, Vivienne Westwood, Jimmy Page and many more
The terms and conditions of the competition are here.
The number is 0203 353 4368. The time is 10am to 6pm on Saturday, December 13. Call in to speak to Polly Toynbee, Peter Bradshaw, Hugh Muir and many other journalists and donate money to the Christmas appeal.
Or, if the phone is not for you, it’s still possible to donate to the appeal online and follow our blog throughout the day.
Will you be calling in tomorrow?
Tell us in the comments below who you would like to speak to and why...
