Join Bear the dog for a coffee morning for Perthshire Abandoned Dogs Society

A traumatised dog has been given a loving new home, thanks to a Perth teacher.

Little Bear’s previous owner had died, and he was left alone and completely lost.

When he was taken to Perthshire Abandoned Dogs Society (PADS) in Forteviot, he was so traumatised he wouldn’t even come out of his kennel.

However, after months of loving care, Bear the bichon frise has found his forever home with teacher Paula Findlay.

Paula said it had taken many months of love and patience before she could gain Bear’s trust, but now the pair are completely inseparable.

She said: “He now loves people and other dogs and is everybody’s pal.

“He is a wonderful wee dog and I am very lucky to have him.”

Bear and Paula are now helping to give something back to PADS with a coffee morning next weekend, thanks to Bear’s new found confidence.

The coffee morning will be held in Burnside Hall in Scone on Saturday, November 16.

Running from 10am until 1pm, homebaking will be served, and there will be stalls, a tombola and a raffle.

Live music will be provided by the Blackford Fiddle Group.

Paula continued: “Bear and I are delighted to help tell people about this PADS event.

“It is really popular and everyone enjoys all the attractions and has a good chat.”

This comes after the PADS annual dog show earlier this year was cancelled due to bad weather.

It is hoped this coffee morning will help to make up the losses.

Alison Kennedy, PADS chair, said: “Our thanks to Bear and Paula for spreading the word.”

Entry to the charity coffee morning is £3.
