Johnstone train station attack leaves man with serious head injuries

A man has been left with 'significant' head injuries after being assaulted at a train station.

British Transport Police is appealing for witnesses following the incident that happened around 7.15pm on Friday (February 26).

The victim was struck on the back of his head causing him to fall and bang his head on the pavement at Johnstone Railway Station. He's currently in hospital being treated for his injuries.

The suspect is described as a white male with short dark hair, around 5ft 6 inches tall. He was wearing a Fila jumper with white writing, red cuffs and white stripes down the arms and white tracksuit bottoms. He was also carrying a black bag.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is being urged to come forward to help with the investigation. Information can be passed to BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 473 of 26/02/21.
