Johnny Sexton, Garry Ringrose and Caelan Doris will play no part in Leinster's St Stephen's Day trip to Munster.
Both Sexton (dead leg) and Doris (calf) are said to have minor injuries, but both have been given the week off anyway under the player management programme.
Ringrose hurt his jaw in last Saturday's Champions Cup win over Northampton Saints, his first game back after fracturing it in the Six Nations against Italy.
However Jack Conan and Ed Byrne have returned from injury, with Byrne back from the calf problem he suffered on Ireland duty and Conan from a neck injury after his last involvement in October, and both come into Leo Cullen's selection equation for the Thomond Park clash.
In-form Rhys Ruddock suffered a rib injury in Saturday's Champions Cup win over Northampton Saints and will be further assessed, as will Harry Byrne, whose hopes of starting in Europe for the first time were ruined after he injured his back in the warm-up.
Jimmy O'Brien has entered the Graduated Return to Play Protocols and will be further assessed over the course of the week.
Leinster and Munster will name their teams for the PRO14 clash on Christmas Eve.
