Johnny Russell shows his class after Dundee United fans on stag party pay former star a visit

Kansas City star Johnny Russell received a blast from the past as he caught up with fans of former club Dundee United in the US.

The Scotland winger greeted a group of supporters, reportedly on a stag party, following his side's 2-1 MLS win over San Jose.

Russell spent six years at Tannadice before earning a move to England with Derby County in 2013.

Five seasons later he made the switch across the pond, signing a three-year deal with Kansas in 2013.

But the 29-year-old is clearly still in touch with his Tayside roots.

He made a beeline for a group of United fans after the final whistle, sharing a laugh and a joke while signing autographs.

The fans had taken in Kansas' 2-1 victory, during which Russell played the full 90 minutes.

Russell has made 18 appearances in all competitions this term, scoring 7 goals.

Kansas currently sit 10th, two places from bottom, in the MLS Western Conference after 26 games.

You can watch the exchange between Russell and the United fans in the video above.
