Johnny Hekker has thrown more NFL passes than Dolphins’ current QBs combined

The Miami Dolphins have the worst quarterback situation in the NFL, and it’s not particularly close. After trading Ryan Tannehill to the Tennessee Titans on Friday, they have just two signal callers on the roster: Jake Rudock and Luke Falk.

Not exactly the most recognizable names, are they?

Miami is in full rebuild mode, as evidenced by the roster’s current construction. Quarterback is clearly the biggest hole as having two guys with five career pass attempts combined is certainly not ideal.

If Johnny Hekker were to somehow be traded to the Dolphins, he would immediately become their most experienced passer. His 19 career pass attempts are 14 more than Miami’s entire quarterback room.

In his career, Hekker has completed 11 of 19 passes for 156 yards and a touchdown. He’s also 1-for-1 in the playoffs, completing a 12-yard pass last postseason. Rudock is the only quarterback in Miami who’s attempted a regular-season pass, going 3-for-5 with 24 yards and an interception. Falk didn’t attempt a pass as a rookie in 2018.

Needless to say, the Dolphins’ quarterback room is not in great shape at the moment.
