Johnny Depp waves to adoring Glasgow fans as he enters Royal Concert Hall

A beaming Johnny Depp has been spotted waving to adoring fans as he entered the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow this evening.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star is set to perform in a sold out show at the venue with friend and singer Jeff Beck on Friday night.

The 58-year-old was spotted heading into the venue's stage door shortly before 5pm, reports Glasgow Live.

Footage showed droves of fans in fits of hysteria as Depp got out of a vehicle at the concert hall.

The Hollywood star was dressed in a checked shirt, a stripy hat and sunglasses as security staff led him inside.

Fans who'd waited outside the concert hall for hours that day shouted his name as the performer turned to face them.

Beaming Johnny waved to those stood on the road before heading inside.

Earlier we told how Depp emerged from the back door of the Dakota Hotel this afternoon and was greeted by a number of fans.

It comes days after the actor won a defamation case against his ex-wife and fellow actor Amber Heard, winning over $10 million in damages following a lengthy and public trial.

The Hollywood star's appearance in Glasgow comes just days after he won his libel case against his ex-wife Amber Heard on Wednesday.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star was awarded compensatory damages of $10million (£8 million) and a further $5 million (£4 million) in punitive damages by a jury yesterday.

The actor sued the Aquaman star over an article which was titled: “I spoke up against sexual violence - and face our culture’s wrath. That has to change.”

The piece made no mention of Johnny Depp by name, yet his lawyers said it falsely implied he physically and sexually abused Heard while they were together.

Heard also won $2m (£1.6m) after the jury found that she was defamed by a lawyer of Depp when he called her abuse allegations a hoax.

He chose not to hear the verdict in person and instead he went out for drinks with Jeff and fellow musician Sam Fender in Newcastle.
