Hollywood actor Johnny Depp has lost his defamation case in the UK's High Court against The Sun newspaper over an article that labelled him a "wife-beater".
Judge Andrew Nicol ruled that allegations in the 2018 article were "substantially true".
"I accept that the defendants have shown that the words they published were substantially true in the meanings I have held them to bear," Justice Nicol said in his ruling which could have a major impact on Mr Depp's reputation and future career.
"It follows that this claim is dismissed."
The high-profile trial, which lasted three weeks, detailed intimate details of Mr Depp's relationship with now ex-wife Amber Heard.
It included accusations of affairs, details of Mr Depp's hedonistic lifestyle, such as heavy drinking and drug-taking, and countless rows between the pair.
Both Mr Depp and Ms Heard had accused each other of violent outbursts.
The pair met on the set of the 2011 film The Rum Diary and married in 2015, before divorcing in 2017.
More to come.
