Johnny Depp leaves staff stunned in visit to antique centre

Staff at an antique centre over the border in Lincolnshire were left starstruck after Johnny Depp visited their shop. As part of a secret operation to keep the visit low-key, Johnny Depp arrived by helicopter at Hemswell Antique Centres on Saturday, March 4, reports Lincolnshire Live.

With links to Pinewood Studios, the meeting was secretly arranged by the antique shop and Mr Depp left with several antique items. Robert Miller, the owner of the antique centre, said Mr Depp was really "down-to-earth."

Mr Miller, who has been the owner of Hemswell Antique Centres for 20 years, said: "He came because we do a lot of work with Pinewood Studios and help with props so have contacts. My staff didn't know until the last minute.

"He really enjoyed his experience here because he was able to be himself. He said he is in hotels a lot of the time because he's constantly bombarded by people."

He added: "He was very down to earth and very chatty. For someone like that to come through our doors was brilliant.

"He played with and bought a few guitars. I'm sure he will be back."

A Facebook post put up by Hemswell Antique Centres at 10.30am on Saturday, March 4, reads: "Hollywood meets Hemswell. Starstruck staff can't quite believe who walks through the door.

"As a secret operation is revealed within the last half hour of their working day." Some of Johnny Depp's most famous films include Pirates of the Caribbean, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Edward Scissorhands.
