The manager of Johnny Depp’s private island in the Bahamas today described the star as “unusually kind” and said she had never seen him be violent towards Amber Heard as the actor's High Court libel case against The Sun continued .
Mr Depp is suing the tabloid’s publisher News Group Newspapers (NGN) and its executive editor Dan Wootton over an April 2018 article which labelled him a “wife beater”. The Pirates Of The Caribbean star, 57, claimed that allegations of domestic violence made by his ex-wife, 34, “mirrored” her abuse towards him.
The court is hearing evidence from the former couple's staff including Malcolm Connolly, part of Mr Depp’s security team; Ms Heard’s assistant Savannah McMillan; and Hilda Vargas, Mr Depp’s housekeeper at his LA properties.
Tara Roberts, the property manager at Mr Depp's Bahamas home, described Ms Heard as a "thrower" as she insisted the actor was not "aggressive". She was questioned about an alleged attack on Ms Heard during a 2014 detox session on the island, but said she had seen Mr Depp with a "gash" on his nose at the time, while Ms Heard appeared unscathed.
