Johnny Depp and Amber Heard news LIVE: Artist claims Heard had 'no bruises' when make-up free day after alleged phone throwing incident

An artist has said he saw "no bruises" on Amber Heard's face when she was make-up free in a libel trial over an article that called Johnny Depp a wife beater.

Mr Depp, 57, is suing The Sun's publisher News Group Newspapers (NGN) and its executive editor Dan Wootton over an April 2018 article which alleged he was violent towards ex-wife Ms Heard, 34, during their tumultuous relationship.

Artist and friend of Mr Depp, Isaac Baruch, claimed he saw Amber Heard without make-up on May 22 2016, the day after Mr Depp allegedly threw a phone at her, and she had "no bruises" on her face.

The court is also due to hear evidence from Katherine Kendall, 50, an advocate for the #MeToo movement; Travis McGivern, a member of the actor’s security team, and Laura Divenere, former interior designer to Ms Heard. The trial heard witness statements from Mr Depp's exes Vanessa Paradis and Winona Ryder on Thursday.
