Johnny Damon posts waterfront home for $2.35 million

March 25--Major League Baseball outfielder Johnny Damon has put his waterfront home in Windermere, Fla., on the market at $2.35 million.

Set on more than half an acre in Olde Windermere, the European-inspired residence features a stretch of private frontage on Lake Butler, a dock and a climate-controlled boathouse with a lift. The 6,166-square-foot main house, built in 2003, has four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms.

Among amenities is a center-island kitchen, living and dining room areas with broad glass doors and a home theater. The master suite has a large soaking tub, his and hers vanities and a wine cooler.

French doors give way to a covered lanai with a flagstone patio set around a pool and spa. Elsewhere is an attached, three-car garage.

Property records show that the former outfielder paid $1.15 million for the home in 2003. Steve Healy of Premier Realty Partners Inc. is the listing agent, according to the Multiple Listing Service.

Damon, twice an All-Star, played 17 seasons with the Kansas City Royals, Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees, among others. The 41-year-old won World Series titles with the Red Sox (2004) and the Yankees (2009). He last played for the Indians in 2012.

More recently, Damon was a participant on the seventh season of "Celebrity Apprentice."
