One hot summer, when I lived in a Manchester apartment, I couldn’t face the humidity of the streets to venture out for an ice lolly, so I lobbed a bag of gummy bears into the freezer. A few hours later, I threw those frozen bears into a bowl with some other chilly ingredients and this masterpiece was born.

Gummy bears’ picnic

I always keep a bag of Haribo gummy bears in the freezer. I don’t defrost the raspberries, because I like the thrill of their icy blast. The chocolate should always be room-temperature, though.

Prep 2 min
Serves 1

1 big handful frozen gummy bears (about 35g)
40g frozen raspberries
200g Greek yoghurt
25g 85% cocoa dark chocolate, broken into small chunks

Stir the frozen gummy bears and raspberries into the yoghurt, then stir in the chocolate. Eat on the couch in front of the television or, if in the midst of a heatwave, naked on the bed in front of a fan.
