John Travolta shares sweet family video of first Christmas since wife Kelly Preston's death

John Travolta has shared a sweet family video of their first Christmas since the death of his wife,

The 66-year-old Grease star shared a video with his daughter Ella Bleau, 20, and son Benjamin, 10 as they celebrate the festive season.

This marks the family's first Christmas since the death of John's wife Kelly Preston in July following her illness with breast cancer.

"Say merry Christmas, Ella!" said John's voice over the clip as Ella posed in black pyjamas by the Christmas tree with her phone.

Meanwhile, Benjamin was seen in a chair without a top but with a cookie that he was very much enjoying.

John captioned the clip: "Merry Christmas from the Travolta family!"

News of Kelly's death in July was met with shock and sadness as she had kept her battle with breast cancer private.

Announcing her death on Instagram, John wrote: “It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer.

“She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many. …I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don’t hear from us for a while.

“All my love, JT.”

The family previously lost John and Kelly's son Jett at the age of 16 in 2009 after he hit his head in a bathroom following a seizure while on holiday in the Bahamas.

Just last month, John reached out to his fans on thanksgiving for their support through the family's recent tragedy.

John noted in a video: “I just wanted to take this moment to thank each and every one of you for supporting me in such an incredible way this year.”

He added: “Happy Thanksgiving and always love.”
