John Tortorella picked up a reporter’s phone and had a fun conversation with his mom

Columbus Blue Jackets head coach John Tortorella can be a very intense person at times.

He also knows how to have some fun, as we saw Monday when he picked up a reporter’s phone, which was at the podium recording his press conference, and talked to the reporter’s mom for a few moments before telling her that he’d be done soon and her son would call her back.

This all happened on Monday, which was the trade deadline in the NHL. The Blue Jackets made a bunch of moves before it and are ready for a playoff run, but their coach is still cool with having some fun:
