John Terry has congratulated Mason Mount on helping Chelsea reach the Champions League final.
The midfielder put in a fine performance for the Blues against Real Madrid, netting late on to secure a 2-0 win and a 3-1 semi-final result on aggregate.
Blues legend Terry was clearly impressed with what he saw from Mount, posting a video of his goal onto his Instagram stories with applause emojis.
Sending his congratulations to both the Blues men and women's team for reaching the Champions League final in their respective competitions, Terry also tagged Mount in a special Instagram post dedicated to the game.
"Congratulations @Chelseafc and @Chelseafcw," he said with a blue love heart. "One more game... @ChampionsLeague @MasonMount10"
Terry used the caption on a picture of a young Mount playing for Chelsea's youth set-up as a boy.
The midfielder echoed Terry's view that the focus now needs to be on beating Manchester City in the final rather than celebrating the fact they won the semi-final.
"Let's go," Mount replied in the comments. "One more game."
Terry later shared a picture of himself and Ashley Cole with a young Mount next to a shot of the midfielder celebrating against Real Madrid, which was posted on the Rising Ballers Instagram page.
The picture was posted alongside a quote from Mount's dad about what he told his son at 15.
"I told Mason I thought he needed to move on to get the best opportunity," he said. "I said: 'No one at Chelsea’s academy has got into the first-team since John Terry — what chance have you got?'
"Mason shot back: 'I’ll be the next one, I’m not leaving Chelsea, it’s my club. I’ve been here since the age of six and I’m going all the way.'"
