John Terry's three-word Instagram message as ex-Chelsea ace breaks his silence after transfer

Willy Caballero has bid farewell to Chelsea and has received an overwhelming response in return.

An arrival from Manchester City in the summer of 2017, the goalkeeper featured 38 times across all competitions for the Blues as he was usually cast in a back-up role to the likes of Thibaut Courtois, Kepa and Edouard Mendy.

But it was announced at the beginning of June that Caballero was to depart Chelsea when his contract expired at the end of the month (June 30, 2021).

The 39-year-old had kept a rather low profile following the news, but just over a week after being officially released by the Stamford Bridge outfit, he took to social media to pen an emotional goodbye.

"I just want to thank all of the Chelsea family for these beautiful 4 years together, for all the achievements, and my teammates for so many fun memories," he wrote on Instagram.

"It has been a pleasure and honour to defend this shirt and colours with my all. I want to wish you the best for the next season ahead.

"I’m excited for whatever follows, and I’m eager to continue my career for the new challenges which football brings to me and excites us all everyday.

"Thank you, Willy.@chelseafc."

Judging by the responses to his post, Caballero will be missed around Cobham.

Several of his now former teammates including the likes of Kepa, Cesar Azpilicueta, Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount reacted to van Ginkel's post with some classy messages.

But perhaps it's a three-word message from none other than Chelsea captain John Terry that Caballero will appreciate the most.

"Good luck mate," Terry wrote.

What is rather interesting about this exchange is that the pair never crossed paths as Cabellero arrived in the same summer Terry had departed, but it would appear they struck up a bond from afar.
