John Terry reacts on Instagram after latest Chelsea deal of summer transfer window is announced

Marco van Ginkel's time at Chelsea has come to an end.

Well, technically it will officially be over on Wednesday, June 30, as that's when his contract at Stamford Bridge expires and the midfielder has confirmed he will be moving on.

The Dutchman had been with Chelsea since 2013 when he made the move from Dutch side Vitesse, but he only ever managed two Premier League appearances at senior level.

During his time in west London, the 28-year-old spent most of it out on loan, five in total including one at AC Milan, another at Stoke City and three at PSV Eindhoven whom he will join permanently from July 1.

Despite not making the impact he would have wanted at Chelsea, van Ginkel still cherishes his time at the club as he bid an emotional farewell on Instagram.

"I want to thank @chelseafc for the last 8 years," he wrote on Instagram. "A big thank you to the club for the unconditional support, especially during my periods of rehabilitation.

"Thanks to the staff, my former teammates and the fans as well.

"I felt at home from the very first moment in London."

This announcement means van Ginkel is the latest Chelsea player to be departing the club this summer along with the likes of Fikayo Tomori and Victor Moses.

And the Dutchman will be missed around Cobham.

Several of his soon-to-be-former teammates including the likes of Reece James and Mason Mount reacted to van Ginkel's post with some classy messages.

But perhaps it's a three-word message from none other than Chelsea captain John Terry that van Ginkel will appreciate the most.

"Good luck mate," Terry wrote.

The pair were teammates up until Terry departed in the summer of 2017 and it would appear they struck up a close bond during their time together in west London.
