John Terry makes Premier League top four prediction after Manchester United beat Chelsea

Former Chelsea defender John Terry has offered up his top-four verdict after Manchester United's 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge.

The Reds trailed fourth-placed Chelsea by six points ahead of the game at Stamford Bridge but pulled off an important victory in the capital.

Anthony Martial headed home in the first half before Harry Maguire did the same after the break.

Kurt Zouma and Olivier Giroud had goals disallowed in the second period as United held on to cut the deficit between themselves and Chelsea to three points and move up to seventh in the Premier League.

Former Chelsea captain Terry, though, is predictably backing his former teammate Frank Lampard to secure a fourth-placed finish for the west London club.

"It begins with Spurs at the weekend at home (for Chelsea)," Terry said. "It’s the perfect game to come and respond if you are a Chelsea supporter or player. They are probably our biggest rivals, a local derby.

"Stamford Bridge will be rocking, it’s a big opportunity for players to go and show what this fixture means, show they want to fight for the shirt.

"It’s an opportunity for certain individuals, maybe there will be a few changes from tonight’s game.

"It will be tough, I just think Spurs and Man United have had a couple of good results and I think Chelsea are on the decline slightly.

"But I think they have another gear to go to and I think Chelsea will secure that fourth spot."
