John Terry makes huge Liverpool prediction and sends Chelsea message ahead of FA Cup final

Former Chelsea captain and legend John Terry has claimed that he believes the Blues can win the FA Cup against Liverpool on Saturday at Wembley. The competition remains the final piece of silverware Thomas Tuchel ’s men can win before the end of the season.

The west London outfit have been pitted against the Reds for a second domestic cup final this campaign, though it was the latter who came out on top after a penalty shootout. The rest of the year has been difficult since, with Chelsea dropping out of the Premier League title race and the Champions League in the quarter-finals.

Despite that, Tuchel doesn’t believe the final is a must-win game for the season to be a success: “I wouldn't get carried away and say we have to win it. We will try everything, and it changes a lot if you play a final or win a final, I can tell you. We will do everything to be happy with ourselves and that we leave everything out there on the pitch. This is what we did in Carabao. Nothing new. We need luck, it needs to be on our side. We will push hard for it."

The German coach has a number of decisions to make for the game, such as his forward line and midfield partnership. Should he get it right, it will put an end to two consecutive FA Cup final losses on the bounce.

And former skipper Terry believes that they can do just that. Taking to Twitter, he said: “Good Luck @chelseafc. Liverpool are a top team and have shown that all season, but if anyone can WE CAN, we need everyone to a man today to produce when it really matters, that’s what we, you have done for years in these big finals.”

The Blues will certainly be hoping to channel some of the energy of the cup winning sides from Terry’s playing days, where he and his teammates continued to dominate the domestic game. Tuchel will be determined for his side to end on a high note, and there are few ways better to do that than winning a trophy at Wembley.
