John Terry has reacted to José Mourinho’s sacking as Chelsea manager by describing him as “the very best I have ever worked with”.
Terry captained Chelsea to three Premier League titles across Mourinho’s two spells at Stamford Bridge and formed a strong relationship with the Portuguese, although that bond appeared to be fracturing amid the champions’ slump this season, and in particular after Mourinho substituted the 35-year-old during Chelsea’s 3-0 loss at Manchester City in August.
However, Terry was full of praise for Mourinho on Instagram, posting a photograph of the two together with the message: “Thank You doesn’t seem enough. Sad sad day. Gonna miss you Boss. The Very Best I have EVER worked with, unbelievable memories together. #boss #friend #specialone #bestever @chelseafc.”
