John O'Shea has left his coaching role with Reading, the club have confirmed.
The former Republic of Ireland defender, who enjoyed a glittering career at Manchester United, including five Premier League winners medals and a Champions League win as a player, has been with Royals over the past three years.
He was originally brought to the club by Paul Clement in the summer of 2018 and played out the final year of his playing career with the Royals.
He then moved into a coaching capacity and worked under Jose Gomes, Mark Bowen and most recently, current manager Veljko Paunovic, reports Berkshire Live.
O'Shea is now planning to complete his pro licence and UEFA MIP (Executive Master for International Players) course which is designed to help prepare former players for a career in management.
He said: "I am very sorry to leave a fantastic club with whom I ended my playing days and was fortunate enough to begin my coaching career.
"I have enjoyed my time with Reading immensely and have loved working with the manager, his coaching team, the staff and a great group of players at Reading.
Meanwhile, fellow first-team coach Niedzwiecki has also departed as his contract was up at the end of June.
He was brought in by Bowen in 2019 as assistant boss, before working under Paunovic last season.
The pair's exits leave Paunovic with Nuno Gomes, Marko Mitrovic and Quinton Fortune as his assistants for the upcoming season.
A club spokesman added: "We would like to wish both John and Eddie the very best of luck with the next chapters in their respective careers."
