Scotland star John McGinn's success in the Premier League with Aston Villa could spark an English raid on the SPFL, according to James McFadden.
McGinn moved to Aston Villa in 2018 from Hibs and has been named vice-captain at the Villans.
Scotland captain Andy Robertson tread the path to Premier League success with Hull City and Liverpool while former Celtic ace Kieran Tierney has been at Arsenal since 2019.
In recent months, highly-rated Premiership products like Nathan Patterson, Josh Doig, Kerr Smith and Calvin Ramsay have all been linked with big-money Premier League transfers.
Scotland legend McFadden - who completed a star-studded transfer from Motherwell to Everton in 2003 - reckons the success of McGinn and others will make English big-hitters more receptive to playing the Scottish market.
"John McGinn came from St Mirren to Hibs and then to Aston Villa," McFadden told TalkSport. "He's been a revelation down there but that hasn't been a surprise to us. We knew he was a good player.
"It shows that we have players that can do it - they just need the opportunity.
"John McGinn in particular hit the ground running as soon as he got to England. McGinn is the same type of player as what he was at Hibs.
"The money involved, the training facilities, the players your training with and playing against, there's no doubt those things make you better.
"The better players adapt to that. There will be more eyes cast towards the Scottish market because of the success guys like John have had."
