John McAfee tweeted 'if I die like Epstein, I didn't do it' before his death

The anti-virus software entrepreneur found dead in a Spanish jail cell once said he would never take his own life like Jeffrey Epstein.

In November 2019 – almost a year before his arrest – British-born John McAfee tweeted: “Getting subtle messages from US
officials saying, in effect: ‘We’re coming for you McAfee! We’re going to kill yourself’.

“I got a tattoo today just in case. If I suicide myself, I didn’t. I was whackd (sic).”

He posted picture of his tattoo, which reads "$whackd".

The controversial businessman, 75, was found dead in a Barcelona jail on Wednesday, hours after a court backed his extradition to the US to face tax-related criminal charges.

His lawyer Javier Villalba insisted it was suicide. He said: “At no point had he shown any special worry or clue that could let us think this could have happened.”

Authorities running the Brians 2 jail said medics tried to resuscitate McAfee, who claimed to have fathered 47 kids.

After his arrest last October, he cryptically tweeted: “I am content in here. The food is good. All is well. Know that if I hang myself, a la Epstein, it will be no fault of mine.”

Financier Epstein – a convicted paedophile and friend of Prince Andrew – was found dead in a New York jail in 2019.

Three days before his death, McAfee’s wife, former prostitute Janice Dyson, posted: “US authorities are determined to have John die in prison to make an example of him for speaking out against the corruption within their government agencies.”

McAfee was born in Cinderford, Gloucs, on a US Army base to an American father stationed there and a British mother.

He was arrested in Spain and accused of failing to file tax returns.

McAfee claimed there was a plot to get him. His lawyers said he had intended to fight all charges.
