John Mara expects Odell Beckham to be part of Giants' future, but it remains uncertain

The Giants will have plenty of pieces to fit together this offseason, and that goes beyond just finding a new head coach and general manager.

The future of Odell Beckham Jr. will also be a central focus for the Giants, and co-owner John Mara would certainly like for his star receiver to be part of his franchise's forthcoming plans.

"I certainly expect him to be a part of this team in the future, but that will be a discussion with the incoming general manager and incoming head coach," Mara said on Monday. "We'll make whatever decision is appropriate going forward."

Beckham, who had season-ending surgery for a fractured ankle he suffered in Week 5, is under contract for next season after the Giants picked up his option for $8.45 million earlier this year.

However, the Giants could cut him before June 1 and not eat any dead money, according to overthecap.com.

The talented but diva wide receiver has expressed interest a new deal and even said he should be the highest-paid player in the league before his season-ending injury.

Beckham has been mostly quiet since his injury, but with a new general manager, head coach and possibly quarterback on the horizon, his status with the Giants is certainly not a sure thing.
