John Lundstram's Rangers transfer gets Oli McBurnie seal of approval as striker bigs up former teammate

John Lundstram's move to Rangers has been given the Oli McBurnie seal of approval.

The former Sheffield United midfielder signed on at Ibrox yesterday on a three-year deal.

Steven Gerrard had long been linked with a move for Lundstram and he finally got his man yesterday.

And the news delighted Lundstram's former Bramall Lane teammate and life-long Rangers fan Oli McBurnie.

The Scotland striker shared his delight at his mate heading north to join the Scottish Premiership champions.

He quote tweeted the signing announcement form the official Rangers account and said: "Things you love to see! what a man, what a player and what a signing!!"

The possibility of McBurnie joining Lundstram in Govan has also been raised this summer.

Rangers have previously been linked with a loan move for the front man, who would jump at the chance to join his boyhood heroes.

Should Alfredo Morelos complete a reported move to Porto, then Gerrard will likely be on the look-out for another striker and McBurnie could fit the bill.

However, the 25-year-old suffered a broken foot that ruled him out of Euro 2020 and is focusing on regaining his fitness.
