John Lundstram reveals Rangers 'Covid cases' that hampered pre-season as midfielder predicts rapid improvement

Rangers midfielder John Lundstram believes fans will see "a different team" in the coming weeks as he reveals pre-season was hampered by Covid.

The Premiership champions have lost their last two games, with Dundee United ending their long league unbeaten run on Saturday.

Steven Gerrard's side face Malmo in a crucial Champions League match on Tuesday, and speaking before the match at Tannadice Lundstram revealed he expects improvement after a difficult pre-season.

Rangers have not made any positive tests public, though the club's in-house TV commentator Clive Tyldesley suggested two players missed friendlies with Brighton and Real Madrid due to Covid.

He mentioned that they were unavailable and commented "we know what that means in the present day" but the club did not give an official reason for their absence.

Lundstram told Sky Sports News: "I think there's a lot more to come from all of us.

"It's only early doors, we had pre-season not long ago and it hasn't been a great one for everyone.

"There have been a few Covid cases. So I'm sure once we are up to speed you'll see a different team."
