John Lundstram Rangers transfer link questioned as Dean Windass fires 'I don't get it' barb

Dean Windass has doubts that Sheffield United's John Lundstram is ready for a move to Rangers.

The 27-year-old midfielder is a target for the Ibrox side and shone in the Premier League last season.

He's only made 12 appearances this term amid frustration from boss Chris Wilder that he won't agree a new deal to stay with the Premier League club.

His current contract expires at the end of the season and he is now free to agree a pre-contract agreement with interested clubs.

And former Blades star Dean Windass, whose son Josh played under Steven Gerrard before his move to Wigan, reckons the powerful box-to-box midfielder isn't ready for such a big move.

He told Football FanCast : “That’s not for me. I don’t get it. I don’t get it at all.

“I’m not being rude, people probably said I was a bad player, it’s just my opinion.

“But I don’t get that.

"I don’t understand why he’s not staying, maybe he thinks he’s better than Sheffield United.

“Does he want more money? Maybe they just think he’s only worth so much.”
