Neil McCann has slammed John Lundstram for letting Rangers down with his sending off against Alashkert.
The summer arrival from Sheffield united was given his marching orders two minutes before the break after picking up a second yellow against Alashkert in their Europa League play-off round first leg.
The midfielder was cautioned for a late challenge just ten minutes before tugging back Jose Embalo.
Despite protesting, Lundstram realised what his fate was going to be before Greek referee Tases Sidiropoulos pulled out a second yellow before flashing the red.
And McCann didn’t miss the 27-year-old during his half-time analysis on Rangers TV: "He's let the club and himself down.
"He's given Rangers a bit of an uphill task in the second half.
"But they need more urgency from Alfredo Morelos.
"I'm not going to sit here and just be a cheerleader. He needs to do more.
"He absolutely needs to do more off the ball.
"When the ball's in wide areas, we need to see more movement from him and Steven Gerrard has a real dilemma now.
"There's two trains of thought. Does he stay calm, even though we're all wanting more urgency from Rangers and a result to take away?
"Or does he say: 'It's OK, we don't lose the game, we go there and take care of business.
"If it was me I'd like to see them go for it a little bit."
On Lundstram’s second yellow, McCann added: “I actually thought he didn’t see him coming but he does have a look so his awareness is actually decent.
“He has a look to his left but instead of then turning towards the goal, he turns back into him which puts him at a disadvantage and gives him a decision to make.
“Maybe that’s indicative of where Rangers have been at times; they’ve turned back instead of just going forward to attack, being positive and committing people.
“Drive forward, try and take a hit when you get a set piece around the edge of the box because Hagi and Tavernier are capable of scoring.
“Try and take a positive touch instead of a negative one, because it’s the negative ones that are killing them.”
