John Lewis stuns fans by sharing correct way to hang baubles on Christmas tree

Hanging baubles on the Christmas tree every year may seem like a straightforward task, but it turns out we have been doing it wrong.

John Lewis have revealed the correct way to hang decorations on the tree - and fans can't believe they didn't know the simple hack.

The high street giant, who released it's hotly-anticipated Christmas advert this week, unveiled the clever bauble trick on social media.

The retailer got its very own Christmas expert Dan Cooper to explain how to decorate the perfect festive tree - and he explained exactly how to hang baubles so they don't slip off the branches.

Giving a demonstration in a tutorial clip on Instagram, he said you should remove the pin from the bauble first instead of trying to maneuver it up the needles.

He then explained that you should place the pin over the chosen branch and secure it in place by pushing the pin back into the bauble.

He said: "A great little tip is to hold on to the cap, pull out the little pin in the top, place that pin over your selected branch and pop the clip back in."

Fans were gobsmacked by the simple trick, with some branding it a 'revelation'.

One person wrote: "I was today years old when I learnt you could use the bauble clip like that."

Another commented: "I never knew that's what the bauble clip did. Best thing I have learned all year.

A third wrote: "The tip about taking the bauble clip out! How have I gone my whole life not knowing that!"

Meanwhile, one person wrote: "Bauble pin revelation!"

John Lewis delighted fans by releasing its Christmas advert this week with a heartwarming story.

Instead of its usual tear-jerking ad, the retailer opted for the motto 'Give a Little Love' as it conveyed the message of spreading kindness.
