John Lewis shoppers floored by price of 'beautiful' drinks trolley spotted online

John Lewis shoppers were floored after learning the price of a "beautiful" drinks trolley after spotting it online.

While its stores are now open after lockdown, John Lewis continues to share products from its homeware and fashion departments on social media.

And a recent Instagram post caused a stir among John Lewis shoppers.

The popular high-street retailer shared a photo of its West Elm Terrace Bar Cart, which features two shelves and has an antique brass finish, to its 822k followers.

Captioning the image, John Lewis wrote: “Curate your very own mini bar. Or get creative and style West Elm’s antique brass cart with your favourite luxuries for unwinding”.

The photo of the antique brass bar cart, which costs £419, gained more than 2,000 likes but some shoppers were unimpressed with the price tag.

While many shoppers have left glowing reviews of the cart on the John Lewis website, including several that label it “beautiful” and “stylish”, others couldn’t believe the price of the cart.

Beneath John Lewis’ posts on social media about the cart, one shopper wrote: “£419???!!!”.

Another said: “I’ll try B&M”.

A third added: “I’ve got a round one from Asda for £30!” while others simply posted shocked face emojis.
