John Lewis quietly launches Black Friday with Sony headphones and Echo Dot deals

John Lewis has launched a Black Friday sale early with discounts on big-name Sony headphones and Amazon devices.

The retailer is not set to officially launch Black Friday until closer to the date of the day itself, Friday 26 November, but a section on the John Lewis website has launched deals early.

The top deal in the sale is on Sony WH-1000MX3 headphones, which have been reduced to £159 for Black Friday.

The noise-cancelling headphones are the previous generation of Sony's range-topping over-ear options but are one of the most in-demand products for Black Friday.

The next generation Sony WH-1000MX4 headphones are also reduced in the John Lewis Black Friday sale. They are priced at £259, down £20 on the previous price.

Other deals include 2019 Apple Airpods with Wireless Charging Case, which is down to £149 in the John Lewis Black Friday sale, and two Amazon Echo Dot devices for £37, which matches that of the Amazon Black Friday sale.

The deals are live now on the John Lewis website but there is a way to get many of the deals even cheaper.

Currys is offering a price matching promise on all of its Black Friday deals and that means all of the products listed in the John Lewis sale can be ordered for the same price on Currys.

Using a £15 cashback discount from deals website Topcashback can then take a further £15 off the price using the new member discount. That brings the price of the Sony WH-1000MX3 headphones down to £144 using the price match and £15 new member bonus.

Currys has launched its main Black Friday sale with over 160 TVs, 26 pairs of headphones, 49 fridge freezers, 20 mobile phones and hundreds of other items reduced.
