John Lewis' Oxford Street rooftop transformed into Winter Carnival

It may only just be autumn, but one of London’s largest rooftop gardens is being transformed into a winter carnival later this week.

The John Lewis and Partners rooftop, which sits atop the retailer’s Oxford Street store, is being given an Americana-themed makeover in time for the festive season. It follows this summer's "festival in the sky", when the space was decked out to mimic a music festival, complete with a stage built into a caravan.

The new look will include fairground horses, waltzer panels and bumper cars, with a claw machine and curling station for entertainment.

Pop-up favourite Jimmy Garcia will run the so-called Carnival Diner, offering snacks including popcorn shrimp, loaded fries, hot toffee apples and Oreo cheesecake bites, while festively themed cocktails, from a Tipsy Hot Chocolate to the Butterscotch Kiss, will be poured at bars dotted around the rooftop.

There'll also be a number of private dens available for hire, which will be kitted out with music, games, and customisable lighting.

Winter Carnival at John Lewis and Partners’ rooftop will open to the public on Friday October 18.
