John Lewis is famed for its fancy wares and guaranteed price promise.
But for anyone still hoping to head to their nearest John Lewis on New Year's Day before heading back to work, do be aware that stores are subject to different hours today.
In fact, despite the fact that it's a Bank Holiday, shops have no obligation to give their staff a day off, but seeing as it's the season of goodwill, John Lewis has kindly decided to give most of its employees a day off.
The department store has confirmed to the Mirror Online that "all of our shops are shut on New Year's Day except Trafford, Heathrow, St Pancras and Canary Wharf."

John Lewis New Year's Day opening times
1 January (New Year's Day) - All John Lewis stores closed except Trafford, Heathrow, St Pancras and Canary Wharf.
2 January - All John Lewis stores open as usual.
John Lewis will be upholding its pledge to price match competitors all year-round, including the January sale.
This means if a rival retailer drops the price on a coveted TV or designer bag, John Lewis will also lower its prices.
Some offers may not be highlighted in store so shoppers are advised to check pricing online if visiting a John Lewis & Partners branch and the retailer will honour the online price.
