John Lewis drops first 'clue' about this year's Christmas advert

Despite, Christmas still being more than 100 days away, rumours have already started to circulate around what this year's John Lewis Christmas advert will be.

Each year, the retailer's festive advert is among the most anticipated with last year's recreating the childhood story of Elton John starring the singer himself.

Its adverts are said to take months if not the whole year to plan and pull together so it's not surprising to see John Lewis has already began teasing fans.

Journalist Declan Cashin tweeted his office had already started speculating over what this year's Christmas advert song would be and who would be singing it, and then joked his guess was Ellie Goulding with the song being Baby Shark.

Replying to the Tweet, John Lewis showed its sense of humour as it said: "Shhh. Don't tell anyone."

And, this isn't the only talk surrounding the advert this year. Many users are already guessing Lewis Capaldi will be the singer recruited for this the 2019 advert.

User @justkatierose said: "PREDICTION: Lewis Capaldi will sing the song for this years John Lewis Christmas Advert."

@Emily_Hilson said: "I bet Lewis Capaldi does this year's John lewis Christmas Advert for sure."

@styleshozier said: "I already can't wait for the next John Lewis Christmas advert."
