Retailer John Lewis is to open a new homeware store in Tunbridge Wells, creating about 190 new jobs, according to BBC News. Further John Lewis "at home" stores are scheduled to open in Croydon and Swindon later this year. In March, the company — where all staff are offered a partnership stake in the company — shared £151m in bonuses among its staff.
Scottish broadcaster STV — central Scotland's ITV franchise — is recruiting community media staff for a newly-launched network of more than 200 town and city news sites, reports journalism.co.uk. The new roles include an overall editor, a deputy editor, four regional editors and three researchers alongside a number of community editors working from home. The sites will also be taking on interns to write reviews and news and produce multimedia content and is partnering with three Scottish universities to recruit these posts.
Insurance and investment group LV= is recruiting for more than 300 jobs at locations around the UK, reports UK PR Wire. Most posts are for the company's general insurance division and include sales, customer services, claims and technical management roles at offices in Bournemouth, London, Huddersfield, Hitchin and Bristol. Roles in marketing, e-commerce, finance and human resources also need to be filled.
