For most of us the marks the start of the festive period.
And after last year's promo which included Sir Elton John and his hit Your Song, fans are already starting to wonder what this year's will look like.
So far, the retailer is keeping details under wraps with the only clue being a Twitter account @ExcitableEdgar appearing.
Fans of the adverts, believe this could be a big hint as to what could look like.
But tonight, John Lewis tweeted an exciting clip confirming the advert's release date and theme.
They said: "We can’t wait to launch our first Christmas ad together with @waitrose #ExcitableEdgar."
The video showed what appeared to be a child's hand knocking on the door - but it's the peculiar looking doorknob which could give fans a major idea as to this year's character.
Towards the end of the clip, a date pops up on screen saying: "Meet Edgar. 14.11.19."
Typically newspapers will get a preview of what the advert is about and the story behind it first - this means if you bookmark this page we'll be able to bring you the clip as soon as we receive it.
