It seems to come around earlier every year, doesn't it? No, I'm not talking about Christmas itself; I'm talking about the hotly anticipated John Lewis Christmas advert.
Luckily for us, Christmas has come early, and the retailer has released its two-minute ad in full online. You can watch it above.
Two of the questions on our lips when watching it were: what's that song, and who sings it?

Turns out, the song is a cover performed specifically for the advert by the singer Lola Young, from south London. The 20-year-old released her first album, Intro, in 2019, and her popularity will surely skyrocket after this performance.
The track itself is Together in Electric Dreams, the 1984 hit first performed by Phil Oakey and Giorgio Moroder for the rom-com Electric Dreams. It later formed part of the pair's eponymous 1985 album.
Young's version is slower and softer, as you might expect from a John Lewis ad. You can stream it on the platform of your choice here.
The video, meanwhile, focuses on a young boy showing a stranger what Christmas is all about, and it's very touching. On the other hand, it is also a ploy from a big corporation to get you to give it your money, so, you know. Swings and roundabouts.
