Once upon a time, it was the Coca-Cola's seasonal advert that signalled the start of Christmas.
But for several years now, John Lewis’s legendary Christmas advert has got us excited about decorating trees and wrapping presents.
We’ve had tear-jerkers aplenty, and there’s almost always a cute animal involved (Bare and the Hare anyone?)
As the festive season fast approaches us, here’s what we know so far about the John Lewis Christmas ad:
When will John Lewis' Christmas ad be released?
The date is being kept hush-hush, but reports have bookmarked the second week of November for the big reveal.
In 2017 and 2016, the ads were out on November 10 whilst the 2015 ad was out four days earlier.
In other words, we don’t have long to wait!
Who’s singing in the Christmas advert this year?

Previous artists to lend their voice to the John Lewis ad have included Lily Allen and Gabrielle Aplin, so we’re all on the edge of our seats as to who will be following in their footsteps.
The Mail on Sunday reported that Sir Elton John will be the star of this year’s ad.
They claimed that the rocket man will be paid £5 million of the advert’s £10 million budget which will see him perform his 1970 classic, Your Song.
What was the 2017 advert?

Last year’s Moz the Monster didn’t quite manage to tug on the heartstrings of the nation like years gone by.
Nonetheless, the friendship between schoolboy Joe and the shy Moz was still adorable.
