John Lennon's Imagine covered by West Belfast teen during online lockdown session

We have been blessed with some great online performances during lockdown - and a West Belfast teen has joined that pool of local talent.

Hannah McCann, 15, from Lagmore, took part in a live session through Lagmore Youth Project (LYP).

During the 30 minute sing-song, Hannah covered her own rendition of John Lennon's hit 'Imagine,' with over 8,000 having shared the video online.

LYP was formed just a few months ago to meet the needs of young people in the Lagmore and Colin areas.

Colm Fanning, Senior Programmes Manager, added: “Hannah is such a credit to the West Belfast and Lagmore community.

"Her talent at such a young age is incredible and she has such a bright future ahead of her - whether that is a career in singing, drama or her dream of theatre.

"Lagmore Youth Project were absolutely delighted to provide Hannah a platform to perform and to highlight the fantastic talent the youth of Lagmore behold.”

Hannah, who is studying for her GCSEs at Rathmore Grammar School in Dunmurry and appeared as a contestant on The Voice Kids when she was 12.

"Singing is all I have ever really known. My mummy said that before I could talk, I would hum away to myself," she said.
