Celtic interim boss John Kennedy admits Scott Brown's final training session at Lennoxtown today was an emotional experience.
Brown is preparing to bring the curtain down on his 14 years at Parkhead this weekend, when he'll turn out in the Hoops for one final time against his former club Hibs.
Brown played in Wednesday night's 4-0 victory over St. Johnstone, which was his last outing as a Celtic player at Parkhead, and the 35-year-old had his final session at the club's Lennoxtown training centre earlier today.
Both Kennedy and Callum McGregor spoke to the media this afternoon and admitted saying goodbye to the club captain has been a difficult task to negotiate.
Kennedy said: "We've been savouring every moment with him. It's been emotional as well, his last session at Lennoxtown today.
"It was a good result for his last game at Celtic Park and hopefully tomorrow we end on a high again."
And McGregor added: "It's obviously very difficult. We've spoken about how influential Scott is as a captain and person, when he steps onto the pitch he's a real leader as well.
"When you let it sink in, in terms of his last week at Lennoxtown, he's a massive presence and we'll hugely miss him around the building. He's such a great person and friend. It'll certainly be a quieter place without him."
Whilst Brown might be turning out for the final time as a Celtic player on Saturday, it's unlikely to be his final match as he prepares to take up the role as player/assistant manager at Aberdeen next season.
