John Kennedy's Celtic press conference in full as interim boss says trophy quest 'can't be about Scott Brown'

Interim Celtic boss John Kennedy would love his captain to go out with a trophy, but insists the Scottish Cup campaign "can't be about Scott Brown".

The legendary skipper will join Aberdeen in the summer, bringing to an end his glorious spell at Parkhead.

The veteran would love to sign off with one final piece of silverware, with the Scottish Cup still up for grabs this season.

But asked in his press conference about winning the trophy for Brown, the interim boss looked to play down that notion.

Kennedy replied: "It'd be nice, and I think Scott would certainly be deserving of that.

"But we don't want to be too emotional, if we can use that as part of our motivation then great, we'll do that.

"But Scott's had a really successful time here, even in current form I think he's playing very well and doing an excellent job with his role in the team, as he always does as captain.

"But we just have to concentrate on the team. The team's the most important thing, it can't be about Scott Brown.

"Beyond that it would be great for him, but we have to concentrate on what wins us the game. That's the most important thing."
