John Kavanagh has hinted that Conor McGregor could be set for a dramatic return to the octagon to face Nate Diaz in July - but it is more likely that the Crumlin man's coach is only teasing fight fans with a April Fools' Day joke.
McGregor announced he was retiring from mixed martial arts last week after a career that saw him become a two-weight world champion and contest two of the most memorable fights in the UFC's history against Nate Diaz.
And Kavanagh tweeted this morning suggesting that a trilogy match between McGregor and Diaz was on the cards for UFC 239 on July 6 in Las Vegas.
He tweeted: "FINALLY! See you all #UFC239 #trilogy."
But no sooner were fans getting excited than they realised that Kavanagh was having them on, given today's date.
One fan said: "You had me for a quarter of a second."
Another said: "I see right through you, John.'
