John Kavanagh explains why Conor McGregor is 'different' to other fighters

John Kavanagh has given fans an insight into exactly what makes Conor McGregor different to other fighters.

The two-weight world champion is the biggest name in MMA and has routinely smashed UFC records both in the octagon and out before announcing his retirement earlier in the summer.

And with McGregor back in training ahead of a potential boxing return, Kavanagh shared a clip of the Notorious one at work and opened up on what makes him 'different'.

The SBG supremo reckons that it's the intensity McGregor brings to every aspect of training that separates him from the rest.

He tweeted: "I'm often asked by beginning fighters what makes him different. Talent?

"Well one of the reasons is the intensity he brings to every round of shadowboxing. Visualisation, form, focus, technique, zero absent mindness, present.

"How you do anything is how you do everything."

It comes after Mannny Pacquiao has confirmed that he's set to take on Conor McGregor in a megabucks boxing match.

The ex-UFC fighter announced his retirement from MMA over the summer and last night vented his frustration with the UFC, sharing text exchanges with boss Dana White on Twitter before announcing that he was to fight Filippino boxing legend Pacquiao in the 'Middle East'.

The Dubliner, 32, tweeted: "Anyway all water under the bridge who gives a f**k. I’m boxing Manny Pacquiao next in the Middle East.

"It will be a true honour to have faced two of the greatest boxers of the modern era, afraid of a fight."

Pacquiao has now confirmed that the fight is set to go ahead, telling CNN Philippines that it will happen next year.

The broadcaster said: "Senator and boxing legend Manny Pacquiao will fight UFC superstar Conor McGregor next year, his office confirms.

"It says details are still being finalized, but a huge portion of Pacquiao's earnings will be used to help the country's COVID-19 response."
