John Joe Patrick Finn makes La Liga debut for Getafe against Levante

A 17-year-old eligible to play for the Republic of Ireland made his La Liga debut on Saturday night.

John Joe Patrick Finn came on in the 84th minute for Getafe in their 3-0 defeat to Levante.

Finn's father hails from Ballyhaunis in Mayo, making him eligible to play for Ireland, while he could also opt to represent Spain or his mother's birth country of Cameroon.

The Madrid-born youngster was signed by Real Madrid's academy when he was just nine before moving to Getafe's youth team.

He plays as a midfielder and will be targeting more game time over the coming weeks and moths, with Getafe hosting Sevilla next Saturday in their next league game.

Clare native Ryan Nolan also plays for Getafe, having previously been a youth player at Inter Milan.
