John Higgins involved in crazy incident in Snooker Championship League

Scottish snooker legend John Higgins was involved in a bizarre incident this afternoon in his Championship League match.

After missing an easy red ball, his opponent Gary Wilson illegally took another shot and smashed another red into the corner pocket to the dismay of Higgins.

The 35 year-old Englishman was overheard apologising to Higgins who accepted his apology and the commentators were in complete disbelief over Wilson's actions.

Dave Hendon uttered: "Oh dear, wow. He will get fined for this, there was more than enough points on the table to win the frame and that concession will result in a fine."

Meanwhile, his co-commentator Phil Yates was shocked, adding: "The referee said that was just a foul but it was clearly not just a foul, was it?

"That was a display, quite deliberately of anger."

The rules of snooker state that a player shouldn't concede a frame unless they need a snooker but Wilson's ungentlemanly conduct was not punished by Paul Collier by awarding Higgins the frame.

However, the 45 year-old Scotsman proceeded to win the frame and match 3-1 to preserve his changes of finishing in top place in group two.
