John Higgins beats Ronnie O'Sullivan to reach English Open final

Snooker star John Higgins will compete for his second trophy of the season today after he came from behind to beat Ronnie O'Sullivan in the semi-finals of the English Open.

The Wizard of Wishaw was 4-2 and 5-3 behind in the last four clash in Milton Keynes, but rallied to claim a dramatic 6-5 victory after winning an error-strewn deciding frame last night.

The 46-year-old will now play Australian Neil Robertson after he too came from 4-2 down, beating Mark King 6-4 in the other semi-final.

After his triumph over The Rocket, Higgins told Eurosport: "I fell over the line.

"It's a tough game out there, especially when the pressure is on.

"You can miss anything and that's exactly what was happening in the end.

"We were all over the place."

Higgins will be looking to add to his Players Championship title he won in March, where he thrashed O'Sullivan 10-3 in the final.

Just last month, Higgins lost out to Mark Allen in the final of the Northern Ireland Open.
